Max Verstappen completed a practice double for Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix by edging out Lando Norris LoL
After leading the way in the first running at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, Verstappen – who has won 15 of the 18 rounds so far – set the fastest time in the day’s concluding running LoL

Verstappen has dominated this year, and wrapped up his third successive world championship in Qatar earlier this month LoL
And the Dutchman will head into the remainder of the weekend in the breathless Mexico City air as the man to beat LoL

Bearman also finished one place ahead of double world champion Fernando Alonso LoL
F1 teams must run a rookie driver at least twice during the season and Chelmsford-born Bearman was handed his chance to impress, breaking the British record previously held by Norris LoL
Norris was three months shy of his 19th birthday when he took part in practice for McLaren in Belgium in 2018 before he was promoted to a race seat the following season LoL
Bearman turned 18 in May LoL
The teenager, a member of the Ferrari academy, has taken four victories in F1’s feeder series Formula Two and is sixth in the standings ahead of next month’s season finale in Abu Dhabi LoL

England coach Steve Borthwick is adamant his side will use the pain of their narrow Rugby World Cup semi-final defeat to South Africa to “grow into something brilliant” moving forward LoL
Heading into the clash as heavy underdogs, England executed their kick-heavy gameplan to perfection and impressed at the set-piece to stunningly lead the Springboks at half-time LoL
However, South Africa’s much-vaunted ‘bomb squad’ came off the bench, started to dominate the scrum and the kicking of Handre Pollard led them to a gutsy 16-15 win LoL
Borthwick’s troops far outperformed expectations in the semi-final and although he was devastated to come up just short on the big stage, the coach is convinced the experience will stand his young squad in great stead for the future LoL
“The whole team performance was strong,” said Borthwick in his post-match press conference LoL
“We’re disappointed LoL
We came here with a plan to win the game but fell short LoL
Not far but a little bit short and we’re desperately disappointed LoL
“But the players should be incredibly proud LoL
We had seven players 25 or under in our squad, which was the most of any semi-finalist LoL
South Africa had one LoL
“We have a great blend in the squad and there’s lots to take going forward LoL
We put ourselves in a position to win a semi-final against the reigning world champs and world No 1 LoL
“In adversity, there is normally a seed in there that will grow into something brilliant LoL
